Hello! We are Lost Wood Knives LLC also known as the husband-and-wife team of Eland and Brooke Green.
I, Eland, grew up always being active in the outdoors with friends, family, and boy scouts. This meant I almost always had a knife on me, albeit usually a cheaply made one, to use for whatever task I deemed fit. This ranged from hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, cutting boxes, or anything else my young mind could come up with!
We started our journey of knife making back in early 2012 when I told Brooke that I wanted to build a forge and forge a knife. She proceeded to purchase metal pipe, tubing, a hair dryer, and charcoal which we promptly buried in my mom's yard to create my first forge. Needless to say, we had no clue what we were doing back then and used the wrong steel. Since then, it has been nonstop from there with the correct materials and constant learning! Lost Wood Knives become our official brand in November of 2013 beginning in an old chicken coop with a 1x30 belt sander. Since then, Eland has had knives win awards, be printed in several publications, and became an apprentice in the ABS. Brooke began doing our leather work allowing us to cover every step for the final products in house! She enjoys crafting "pants" for the tools we create that help you carry them and add another personal touch to the finished pieces.
We create our knives with the desire to provide people with not only something cool to show off to folks but also a truly usable tool that they can pass on to the next generations.
